In one of the campaigns I go to at the wonderful world of S.O.L.A.R., one of my characters is a make up race, meaning I have to paint my body to meet the racial requirements, etc. (I'm sure this is familiar to at least most of you, right?)
I have to paint tattoos, with a tribal look, on 50% of my exposed skin. Problem is, when it's hot outside and I start to sweat, parts that I expose, like my tummy, tends to smudge together and then I've got this blob of Ben Nye all over me.
What's the best kind of make up to use? Would Set Spray prevent this, or lesson that outcome?
During the winter months when only my face is showing, pretty much, I tend to use Liquitex acrylic paint. It stays, it looks good - more like skin that's actually tattooed - and it's relatively easy to get off. Plus, if I touch it with my hands, I don't get powdery smudges of it on my fingers/gloves.
So what's a larp chic to do?
Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations on brands or other products that could help?

Re: Make up suggestions
Sat, July 24, 2004 - 11:39 AMliquid set works, but be careful with it...also try applying foundation where the tats are to be applied, then power over the tats once they are done. There are anti persperant powders that stop the melting together. -
